I have read many problems and questions on different Facebook groups I’m in. These are the common problems among business owners and their virtual assistants.Read More
If you are a business owner wanting to expand your business by being visible on your social media platforms, chances are you’re overwhelmed on what and when to post on your pages.
There are different things you can do to solve this dilemma. Either you hire or outsource someone, a Virtual Assistant who handle Social Media Management and other administrative tasks; or a Social Media Manager whose focus is solely to gain followers, making sure you are visible on all your social media platforms, creating and curating content, and carrying out your marketing strategy. Either way, this may cost you and your business.
If you are just starting out, there are some tools can help you make your social media life more manageable. There are automation tools you can use like Post Planner, SmarterQueue, CoSchedule, Hootsuite, Buffer and a lot more.
Aside from scheduling posts you also need to curate content. And let me tell you honestly, curating content takes tons of time. From searching keywords, articles, videos and images to organizing the link, title and caption to your spreadsheets — it takes time! And time is important to every business owner!
As a Social Media Manager, I use an app “if this then that” or better known as IFTTT, which helps me in making my curated content organized.
A brief overview of IFTTT. This free app is not just for social media integration; it can also be used for other things like organizing your contact list or your calendar perhaps. It works by creating an “applet.” An “applet” lets you trigger actions on other apps, web services and devices automatically every time certain conditions are met.
Here is an example, an applet I created for my client's social media curated contents:
And when it’s time for me to view the spreadsheets, I can just go to my Google Drive and voila! It is organized and ready to be scheduled on my client’s pages.
In summary, I integrated my Pocket app to IFTTT. In this way, I can save articles through the Pocket app and tagged it with a specific word that could trigger my IFTTT applet.
There you have it! Make your business and social media life easier with IFTTT.
When I started out as a Virtual Assistant, planning is not new to me. However, managing different clients on different time zones with diverse needs requires me to have a planner that could not only track my day, time and tasks but also I need a planner that is versatile like my job.Read More
